Gelanghe village

Seeing...
The inexhaustible combinations of colors and shapes of birds, butterflies, beetles and dragonflies, the wild orchid flowers and ferns hanging from giant forest trees, the mosaic ethnic culture and architecture... the extraction of wild honey and the traditional tea plantation and processing...

Listening...
To the orchestra of the forest, the cry of the night-owl, the chorus of the bullfrogs, and the wind in the trees;
Listening to the songs of monks in prayer, and to women’s chat in the market

Traditional Puer tea processing

Tasting...
Sticky rice with green algae from the Mekong, fish barbecued with lemon-grass, home-distilled spirit by Dai villagers, and some deep-fried bees, wild veggies and mushrooms;
Tasting a cup of old Pu’er tea, fabulous bread from Wangtianshu bakery, and a glass of single malt, in the Winter by the fireplace overlooking the Mekong...

Smelling...
The perfumes of innumerable flowers, the pungency of spices and the humidity of a rainy morning;
Smelling the sweetness in the air and the fragrance of the forest, lingering in a brew of old Puer tea, and the wilderness of our homemade honey...

Feeling...
A butterfly on the tip of your finger, the breeze of the Mekong in your hair, the sweat on your brow as you climb through the forest, and the mist of the waterfall on your face;
Feeling the peace in your heart inside an old buddhist temple; the effect of a massage after a sensational day...
